Gait problems
Short striding, limping, loss of collection, cross-canter, refusal to pick up lead, lameness, toe dragging, uneven strides, stumbling, forging, not smooth or fluid at different gaits.
Behavioral changes
Bucking, cinchy, refusals, ear shyness, head shyness, fighting bit, kicking, rearing up, etc.
Performance problems
Pulls to one direction, shys away from jumps, decreased flexion at the neck or poll, uses entire body to turn, dominant on one side, refusal to turn to one side, loss or decrease in level of performance, difficulty executing desired movements, tail swishing, does not ride smoothly, leans, head carriage.
Static problems
Muscle imbalance, muscle spasms or atrophy, heat in certain areas, abnormal sweat patterns, white hairs underneath the saddle, digestive disorders, uneven shoe wear, standing with hips uneven, holds tail to one side, head tilt, weak ear, inflammation or swelling over certain areas.
Injuries
Falls, training, stressful situations, travel, stalled for long periods of time.
Diagnosed conditions
Such as degenerative arthritis, weak immune system, etc.
